Haul-July 9, 2009-Includes Color Craft Collection

So today I had a big shopping day, haha...it's probably making up for those times I just bought a thing or two. But anyways, I wanted to share my awesome purchases with you guys...including the couple of items I got from MAC's new Color Craft Collection. I have already posted a video on YouTube, but here I waited to share better pictures and swatches.

The Damage:
First stop: Ulta
So here I had the intentions on just getting a moisturizer and a nail polish. However, when they didn't have either item, I went looking around which we all know is trouble!
Items Purchased:

Back up of Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara...I love this stuff!
NYX Lipgloss in Sweet Heart (Thanks to Allthatglitters21) *Swatch at lower left of hand

China Glaze Nailpolish in Turn up Turquoise

Smashbox's Try Me Collection Vol.2-Okay, so this was my total splurge here, but it was still only $29, and I have really been wanting to try O-Glow and also another primer from Smashbox since they have so many to choose from. In the kit comes: Bionic Mascara, Reflection High Shine Lip Gloss, O-Glow Intuitive Cheek Color, Photo Finish Foundation Primer, and Fusion Soft Lights in Baked Starburst. Also, with a purchase of any Smashbox item you get a free sample of a tinted moisturizer in Luminous. I will have to try these products out for you guys and report back on it they were any count...or not. So excited about this find though, since it will allow me try many products without spending a whole lunch and wasting product, too if I don't like it.

So I also went to Walmart and bought some Johnson's Baby Shampoo...finally got to clean some of brushes REALLY well tonight.

I also went to Best Buy where I bought the Essential Michael Jackson Album. This thing is AWESOME!! It was 38 songs on it ranging from his days in the Jackson 5 all the way to like 2001 with You Rock My World. The only downfall is that it doesn't have one of my favorite songs: Give In To Me. But it does have like everything else so I think it is great!! A definite for someone who wants all his great songs together =)

So then I'm off to Sephora. I only needed one thing, and that was Clinique Moisturizing Lotion. I love this lotion!! And let me tell you for people who like it, Sephora sells a 1.7 fl oz bottle for $12.50, and the 4.2 fl oz bottle is $24...do the math, haha...I got the bigger one obviously. It also has a nice pump that makes for easier usage!

I was kind of upset with Sephora though, I didn't get a nifty free sample today...but oh well.

Finally...off to MAC to check out the new Color Craft Collection. It was pretty awesome, especially the eye shadows. However, I didn't want to go too overboard until I start seeing what others got and their reviews.

What I did get:

MSF in Sunny By Nature (Thanks to Michele1218 who said it was like so Ceylon)

Mineralized Eyeshadow Quad in Natural Flare-I think this will be especially gorgeous in the fall

226 Brush-I have been counting the day until this collection just to get this brush...it's amazing!

Not from CC Collection:

A Rose Romance Lipstick-Really pretty pink

Electric Eel Eyeshadow-I didn't have a blue at all in my collection!

So that's it!! Hope you enjoyed!

Have a great weekend everyone! Not sure when I'll post again, I'm going out of town all next week. Later!

Reviews and a tip...

So here are my final reviews of some products. This isn't everything I need to review, but it's most of them.

1. Bourjois Liquid Eyeshadow in Molecule d'or-This is a really good eye shadow! I saw MakeupGeek use this e/s in one of her looks, so I had to try it. This product is sold at Ulta for sure, and it is kind of pricey so be warned. However, I love the creaminess of it and I think the color is gorgeous. I am definitely going to check out some other colors.

2. MAC's Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder-I'm pretty sure I've talked about this one before, but I can't say enough...this product is wonderful! It just finished out your skin and makes it just look smoother and well, finished. I'm not sure if this product is permanent, but everyone should go check it out at their local MAC counter.

3. Clinique Dramatically Different Lotion-So I couldn't make up my mind on this until the other day when my chin was really dry. I put this lotion on my face, and honestly it did nothing. It's kind of a more runny lotion so be warned, and it might work for some people. However, I have really dry skin right now, so I'm going to have to still to my Dove Moisturizer.

4. Benefit Bad Gal Lash-Horrible!! I know I've talked about this one, and believe me, definitely PASS on this crappy mascara!

5. CHI 44 Iron Guard-This is such a good heat protectant! It smells sooo good and it just helps to smooth my hair right before I straighten it. I even curled my hair the other day with my straightener and use this stuff, and it looked to pretty and smooth.

6. Best Bath Store Products-As mentioned in several other blogs...I love this store. But, I will have to say that one of their products didn't really keep working for me and I had to go back to what I was using before.

a.) Acne Bar-This is wonderful! I even bought the full size of it. I use
this bar after I wash my face with another cleanser to get all my makeup off. It really helps to smooth my skin and make it feel even cleaner. I would definitely recommend this!
(Pictured in soap dish from Walmart that is like 97 cents)

b.) Acne Gel-This is the product that I will not be getting anymore. I
got a couple breakouts and used this product, and it didn't seem to have an effect, so, I went back to me Clean and Clear and the breakouts cleared up completely in 2 days!

c.) Facial Scrub-Love this stuff, too! I use this about once a week and
it really just makes my skin feel wonderful and smooth.

d.) Pore Refining Toner-This product is good, but I don't think I'm
going to purchase the full size in it. I don't know, it seemed to work really good for awhile and now I can't really tell the difference. Maybe if I go back to using my old toner I'll see how good this one is, but as of right now I'll use my samples and that's it.

e.) Intense Under Eye Treatment-I got this sample because I do have slight dark circles as well as under my eyes was really dry. I used this for a few nights and really liked how it felt under my eyes, however, it made my eyes really water so I think that there might be something in it that I'm allergic to. My recommendation on this product would be to try a sample and make sure you don't have the same reaction.

So I think that's all the reviews I have right now. I do have a couple more reviews on some products I got from the Best Bath store, but I want to use them more before I review. I really wanted to tell everyone now about Urban Decay's Primer Potion (UDPP)...

I've always really liked UDPP, but like everyone else I hate the packaging. I've used it for a couple months, and I've really been having trouble getting any out. Like most people I was getting ready to toss it. However, a few weeks ago I saw on YouTube how to get the most from you UDPP and I watched as someone cut the bottle in order to dip all the product out. I really thought this looked kind of difficult and not worth it. But, I really liked this product, and I had some time today, so I cut the bottle. Sure enough there was TONS left!! I just wanted to tell you guys that it's an easy process, just cut the bottle at the top and bottle, and you would not believe all that comes out. As I've said I've used mine for awhile, and I still had a lot left! (Pictured in one of the containers at Walmart-2/97cents)

For you people thinking you'll just buy Too Faced Shadow Insurance (TFSI) let me tell you that UDPP is so much better! I hate TFSI and wish I had never purchased it. It may work well on oily lids, but it did nothing for me.

Well, I think that's it for now. Can't wait to go to TN, hopefully I'll have an awesome haul when I get back! =)

A little review and some makeup tips...

So in this entry I wanted to share a couple reactions to the things I've been using so far as well as share some eye makeup looks that are quick, easy, but still look good.

First off, the reviews.

1. MAC's Zoom Lash Mascara-So, I've used this mascara now for a couple days and I have to say that I'm not too impressed. Maybe it's just that I'm spoiled with Makeup Forever's Smokey Lash, but I don't think it's any better that others I've tried. It does lengthen some (repeat SOME), but there's no real volume and after a few hours it does start to flake on my cheeks. I'll try to use it a few more times, maybe when I'm not working so see if it doesn't flake. I'll also try adding a couple more coats to see if that helps.

2. Clinique Dramatically Different Lotion-So, when I bought this I was sooo excited about it, because I've heard it was really good for dry skin. To me, it was okay. It's kind of runny so be warned, but it does do alright. I think my Dove moisturizer is better, but as with the mascara I'll use it a bit more to fully decide on whether I will ever re-purchase.

3. CHI 44 Iron Guard-I LOVE THIS STUFF!! So, I was really wanting a heat guard that smelled good as well as helped my hair look shiny and good, and this is it! I absolutely love the smell and my hair felt so silky after using this product! I will definitely keep using this product and keep buying it! =)

4. Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder (MAC)-I really can't decide about this stuff. I think I can tell a difference after applying it, but I'm not completely sold on it yet. I will definitely have to use this when I'm not going to work and running around to see the staying power of it and if it does make my skin look better.

That's really all the products I'm got to use so far this weekend. I've been working A LOT this weekend and so I haven't tried the others, but I will try to start using them and get back on here to report my opinion. Now on to some simple looks...

These are a couple looks I've come up with when I'm in a hurry or if I'm going somewhere that I have to tone down the dramatic eyes. Sorry that I don't have pics to go with these looks, I'm not exactly a makeup guru here, haha. =)

OH! P.S.-All the eye shadows listed are by MAC

1. Naked Lunch (or Grand Entrance) all over the eye area and Sketch in the crease. You could even add Vanilla e/s as a highlight if you want or even Crystal Avalanche if you want more sparkle. I LOVE this look the most, because even though the colors aren't the dramatic, you still can have a slight smokey eye. Add some black eyeliner (I use blacktrack fluid line) and mascara and you're ready to go!

2. All That Glitters all over the eye with Antiqued in the crease. Here you could add Vanilla as a highlight or just blend with a little All That Glitters. This is a nice brown neutral look. I still put on my black eyeliner since I'm addicted to it, but i think this look would look good without any liner or a nice brown. This would also be a nice look to add a colored liner on the bottom lash line if you want as done by Allthatglitters21 and MakeupByTiffanyD. That is a cute way to make your eyes pop.

Well, I hope this was helpful...Later!
